Pros

  • Try AMEX or CapOne Venture.
  • For "all other" spending, I'd recommend the Capital One Venture. 2X on all spending and no foreign transaction fees. $95 annual fee.
  • When I got my Venture card, I paid one month’s rent so I didn’t need to spend money unnecessarily. When considering that I got 2% back on that transaction, I was only out about $15.
  • I recently opened the Capital One Venture credit card and am trying to spend $4k in 3 months.
  • I’ve been making arguments for a few months now that Venture is an interesting churn, especially with an elevated SUB.

Cons

  • Venture earns 2X Capital One miles. If you use your Capital One miles on the travel portal or to erase travel purchases, like most people do, then you're only getting a 2% return. If you know how to get good redemption value through tran...
  • If we compare similar cards like the Capital One Venture, and Chase Sapphire preferred, that includes only a $50 credit back for travel, plus having similar cash back between both cards, it is basically both cards combined into one.

Venture earns 2X Capital One miles. If you use your Capital One miles on the travel portal or to erase travel purchases, like most people do, then you're only getting a 2% return. If you know how to get good redemption value through transfer partners then you could easily get a 3% or better return.

It is a great card for someone looking for a travel card who does not care about lounge access. A great SUB on a flat 2X Visa with TSA Pre-check for $95 AF.

Wouldn't this make it a worthwhile beginner card, same sub as venture X, lower AF and additional $250. Personally idc about the airport lounge Access from venture X. Considering getting venture card for my summer travel . All in all. I think it's definitely worth it in year 1. Year 2 and beyond is a little different
