If you exclusively use points for travel and if you can use the Gold credits organically, Amex Gold + Venture X is honestly a goated duo since they transfer to most of the same airlines
I prefer Amex's points since the cards better align with my spend and I don't fly AA, so the transfer partners are the same or slightly better at Amex.
I use this setup at the moment, but will likely drop the Gold when it comes up for renewal. I really like the simplicity this setup provides, but I don't use many of the Gold's credits naturally, so it takes a while to "be in the black" with it.
Amex Gold gets you 4% back in points. That earns you an extra 4% on every tip you swipe. Lol.
Otherwise hotel CCs are not as flexible as other broader category travel cards (Chase Sapphire, Amex Gold, etc).

I ditched the Amex Gold after COVID, and I could not care less about the 4x. Grubhub, Resy, and Dunkin' are completely worthless; I'm not going to be led around the nose by a credit card.
