Pros
- Wells Fargo Autograph Journey is one of mine. 5x on hotels without use of a travel portal is my main use for it. WF transfer partners are not the strongest but I can cash out at 1cpp too so I'm happy with that.
- WF Autograph Journey is the most competitive for booking directly, and additionally you get 3x on travel booked through third-party sites (hotels.com and the like).
- The Wells Fargo Autograph Journey gives 5% back on hotels but has a modest fee.
- If you really want the best flexibility get the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey. It earns 5X on hotels and you're not tied to a portal.
- Other cards worth considering are the Wells Fargo Autograph Journey and the Citi Strata cards.
Cons
- Parent context: Anyone had both the Autograph and Autograph Journey, I’ve got a question. Does the travel category on either/ both include ride share? Autograph language seems to indicate yes, but the Journey is less clear. Reply: The “o...
- Another potentially good option to look into is Wells Fargo Acitve Cash & Autograph or Autograph Journey.
- Cards being considered: Citi Strata Premier, Wells Fargo Autograph Journey, credit card with lounge access if possible

I think it's the best cashback travel card out there. Very friendly categories to build up points there.
Parent context: Anyone had both the Autograph and Autograph Journey, I’ve got a question. Does the travel category on either/ both include ride share? Autograph language seems to indicate yes, but the Journey is less clear. Reply: The “other travel” category for Autograph journey includes timeshare, auto rentals, cruise lines, travel agencies, discount travel sites, and campgrounds. No ride share.
It’s definitely a bit slept on but needs a few more partners to be a real contender IMO
Now that Wells Fargo added JetBlue (and by extension United) as a transfer partner, the AJ might be a top contender for travel credit cards. 5x on hotels booked direct, 4x on airlines booked direct, 3x on all other travel, 3x on dining, no FTF, travel protections, etc. You also get a $50 credit statement when booking at least one flight a year, making the AF effectively $45. Even if you don't care about transferring points this seems like the best cash back travel card since you can redeem points 1:1. Pretty insane card for all it offers.
Another potentially good option to look into is Wells Fargo Acitve Cash & Autograph or Autograph Journey.
