Robinhood Gold Card
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Robinhood Gold Card is a high-reward 'catch-all' credit card offering a flat 3% cashback rate, though it is tied to a paid Robinhood Gold membership. While users are highly impressed with the seamless app interface and instant reward posting, the card is frequently criticized for its lackluster customer support and minimal travel protections. There are also significant reports of 'reward nerfing' where users are restricted to 1% cashback if their spending is flagged as business-related or non-personal.
Pros
- Flat 3% cashback on all categories when redeemed to a Robinhood investment account.
- Exceptional mobile app user interface with seamless navigation and instant balance updates.
- Points are often available immediately after a transaction or shipping.
- Integration with the broader Robinhood Gold ecosystem, including IRA matches and margin bonuses.
Cons
- Requires a $50 annual Robinhood Gold membership fee.
- Redeeming for statement credit may result in a lower effective cashback rate (approximately 2%) compared to investment transfers.
- Customer service is widely considered inferior to premium competitors like Amex.
- Very limited travel protections; does not cover mechanical breakdowns or travel delays.
Caveats
- Strict monitoring for 'business-like' spending can result in rewards being capped at 1% for 12 months.
- Many users report being stuck on a long waitlist or facing a difficult application process.
- Some users report receiving lower credit limits than expected compared to other cards in the same tier.
Best for
- Existing Robinhood Gold members looking for a high-rate general spending card.
- Users who value a top-tier mobile app experience and instant transaction feedback.
Avoid if
- You require robust travel insurance or delay protections.
- You plan to use the card for any high-volume business or 'cash-like' transactions.
- You prefer high-touch, reliable customer support for financial products.
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median source age of approximately 306 days. Because fintech products and waitlist statuses change rapidly, this older data may not reflect current terms or availability.

I waited a while. I think since the day they announced it. Got it two weeks ago.
even the stronger catch-alls like the Robinhood Gold have exclusions/catches that will have a basic 2% card see some use again.
To my knowledge, only Robinhood Gold has these protections without a > $100 annual fee.
As much as I despise Robinhood as an organization, the RH Gold card needs to be mentioned
I'll be canceling mine in the new year in favor of Robinhood gold card.
Robinhood Gold: 3% cash back catch-all for anything not listed above, $50 annual fee to be a Gold member but offset with margin bonus invested in SGOV
This card is bullshit.. If you’re a big spender they either nerf you or straight up close your card
So glad I never bothered with this card
1x for 12 months is brutal for this. It’d be a lot better if they just decreased shipping MCC to 1x instead of limiting everything. Sounds like they think you’re not profitable and they’re just trying to push you out.
Recently, your Gold Card expenses resembled business spending more than personal spending. Be mindful that business expenses are not permitted on the Gold Card, and cash-like transactions are not eligible to earn rewards. As a result, you’ll be earning 1 point per dollar spent for the next 12 months.
