Pros
- Out of all of them I liked the shockwafe the most from a movie watching experience. I’m not much of a music guy so I can’t speak to that part. The atmos on the shockwafe is just better in my opinion.
- During the Christmas break I ordered the Shockwafe for $1699 and I was hoping to love it better than my Quads but that didn’t happen. I will say for $1699 it’s a very competent system and beats the dragon in the 8” sub form in every way....
- The shockwafe definitely has the best atmos for soundbars. ... even the 2 ported 10’s that the shockwafe has sound really good compared the an almost $5k system
- Parent context: Are you using the Nakamichi? Reply: That is the only soundbar I've heard that convinces me of hearing overhead sounds.
- Nothing is better than Nakamichi right now tho nothing can take on the shockwafe and it’s only $1699. It’s as good as some really expensive sound systems
Cons
- I tried the Shockwafe about 3 years ago. My main objection, and the reason I returned it, was due to overwhelming bass. I couldn't turn it down enough. I contacted tech support and they provided suggestions but in the end the bass was to...
- Only minor issue would be the lack of AI auto room detect features, perhaps Nakamichi brings that in future app/ OS updates!
- Shockwafe on sale for $1398. But from what I see most people will recommend getting the Samsung 990C or 990D which you can regularly get for around 900 on sale…

I tried the Shockwafe about 3 years ago. My main objection, and the reason I returned it, was due to overwhelming bass. I couldn't turn it down enough. I contacted tech support and they provided suggestions but in the end the bass was too overwhelming. And, to make matters worse, the bass was a bit boomy. It wasn't clean and precise.

I will say for $1699 it’s a very competent system and beats the dragon in the 8” sub form in every way. Bass dips lower without bottoming out and the Atmos is good. Would recommend this over the dragon easy

I also have a Nakamichi shockwafe wireless with 2 10in subs so I prefer the loud felt bass
Nakamichi shockwafe is what worked best in my space for my ears.

I have the nakamichi shockwafe in a 20x30x14 room..one wall has a huge cutout into our similar sized dining room. It's a descent sized room. And the shockwafe blows the room away it's fantastic.
