Went with QM7 which is on sale $500 this week. Great tv.
I watched the rtings review for the QM7 and the main complaints they had were sound quality, reflection handling and out of box color accuracy.
I cap my QM7 brightness at around 50 which is still super bright in a dark room. Even during the day this is plenty for me, but our living room doesn't get a lot of direct sunlight.

the difference between say the QM6K and QM7K is much larger than the difference between the QM7K and QM8K. The 7 series has really been the sweet spot for the past few years

My QM7 was affected as well. Screenless made the problem go away for me too.
