Don't miss Hampton Court Palace if you are into the Tudors. Head down on a sunny day, by river ideally, as King Henry would have. Great day out, and a fabulous boozer opposite.

Windsor Castle, tower of London and Hampton Court are more legitimate

followed closely by Hampton Court Palace, which is only a 35 minute train ride from Waterloo Station. You’ll spend most of a day there.

And finally, if you have time, do go to Hampton Court. Royal history, and a great visit.

The Magic Garden alone will be worth it, and your kids will get to see a real Tudor kitchen in use.

The medieval Tudor building designed for Thomas Wolsey is fantastic and they often have demonstrations of Tudor cookery in the Great Kitchen.

Hampton Court is fantastic although it takes a bit to get there.
