Edinburgh in autumn is magical.
When we went to Ireland, Dublin was our least favorite and when we went to France, Paris was the least too. So maybe we skip Edinburgh altogether, or spend less time there.
Edinburgh is very walkable (though hilly in parts) and the public transportation is very good.
And Edinburgh at the start/end is always worth it, even just for the vibe (very Outlander )
100% visit Edinburgh. If you can, get up to Inverness and do a highland trip. Get a full Scottish breakfast. Go to the Guinness museum. Talk to locals. Eat Irish stew. Scotland and Ireland are absolutely beautiful...enjoy!
