AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Fidelity Visa is widely considered a top-tier 'catch-all' credit card, praised for its flat 2% cash back and lack of an annual fee. It distinguishes itself from other 2% cards by offering travel-friendly features like no foreign transaction fees and a TSA PreCheck/Global Entry credit. Users particularly value the 'set and forget' nature of automatic reward redemptions directly into Fidelity brokerage or money market accounts.

Pros

  • Flat 2% cash back on all purchases with no rewards caps
  • No foreign transaction fees (FTF), making it viable for international travel
  • TSA PreCheck or Global Entry statement credit
  • Automatic redemption into Fidelity investment accounts, allowing rewards to compound
  • No annual fee

Cons

  • Serviced by Elan Financial Services rather than Fidelity directly, which some users find inferior
  • Frequent reports of low initial credit limits (e.g., $500)
  • Aggressive fraud flagging on large purchases, especially shortly after account opening
  • Lacks extended warranty protection on purchases

Caveats

  • While some users mention 2.5% or 3% cash back tiers, these generally require high levels of managed assets ($1M+) or refer to discontinued programs
  • The card offers purchase security for 90 days but specifically lacks the extended warranty benefits found on some competitors
  • Rental car coverage is noted by some as being secondary

Best for

  • Existing Fidelity customers who want a simple, automated way to invest cash back
  • Travelers who want a no-annual-fee card with no foreign transaction fees
  • Users seeking a single 'daily driver' card for all spending categories

Avoid if

  • You need a high credit limit immediately for a large purchase
  • You prefer dealing directly with Fidelity's internal customer service rather than a third-party servicer like Elan
  • You prioritize purchase benefits like extended warranties over flat cash back

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median age of 421 days, so confidence is medium as terms or servicing quality may have shifted since the bulk of the discussions occurred.

Automatic redemption of rewards, back into a government money market fund that compounds daily. Free TSA pre-check/Global Entry. No foreign transaction fee. If you use Fidelity as your "bank", having this card as a daily driver is very attractive.

However, it does sound like the Fidelity Visa might be a good fit for you. It has no annual fee, no foreign transaction fees, rental car insurance, global entry credit, and the benefits have been incrementally getting better over the years, rather than worse.

I would argue the Fidelity Visa should sit ahead of all the other flat 2% cards you listed when considering the TSA PreCheck credit and no FTF

The fidelity visa gets 2% back with no foreign transaction fees or reward caps. It’s a solid option outside the Wells Fargo card

Fidelity Visa is a good card but it just cannot compare to a PRE, PR, or product-changed UCR.

Last I checked Fidelity is 2%, they used to have a program to make it 3% but it required $1MM in *managed* assets. Unsurprisingly, didn't have much success attracting clients and got discontinued.

Are you sure it’s 2.5%? I have a Fidelity card and pretty sure it’s an uncapped regardless of category flat 2%.

I am now sticking to a 2.5% cashback card from Fidelity.
