Anova Precision Cooker

Pros

• I have had an ANOVA for about a decade. It works amazingly well
• 2 Anovas, and 1 dead Joule.
• That all said, I did buy my dad an anova and it is a really nice unit that did not need an app to get the job done.
• I've had no problems with my Anova I bought in 2017, and I agree that I also would not want anything that REQUIRES an app.
• I have Anova, Westinghouse and a larger modernist cuisine that does much larger water baths and the temp times are all interchangeable.

Cons

• Haven't used my Anova in a while but I'd actually go for 6-8 hours depending on the thickness.
• I went through 2 Anovas the original one and the 2nd gen. Eventually they failed. The first one stopped heating, and the second one came out of alignment and the little propeller on the bottom was hitting something.. Also the finish star...
• I have an Anova Pro from 4-5 years ago and has been great. But, it seems you can’t use the app with new models unless you pay a subscription fee. I don’t often use the app, but not sure I’d buy again
• I'm using an $80 anova for 3 or 4 years now. The app is worthless but the info sent to the phone about time and temp is nice but not necessary.
• Skip the breville or really anything with an app, including anova who started charging for their app which made some of their devices useless.
