Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The OnePlus 12 is frequently cited as a high-value flagship that competes effectively with more expensive models from Samsung and Apple. Users generally praise its 'buttery smooth' performance, high-quality display, and excellent battery life paired with fast charging. The Hasselblad-tuned camera system receives mostly positive feedback for its color rendition, though opinions on its video capabilities and night performance are somewhat mixed compared to the iPhone. The most significant point of contention is the curved screen, which some users find aesthetically pleasing while others criticize it for perceived fragility and handling issues.
Pros
- Excellent battery life and industry-leading charging speeds
- High-quality display that users describe as 'appealing' and 'smooth'
- Strong value for money, especially when found at discounted price points
- Hasselblad color tuning provides natural-looking photography
- Great stereo speakers and overall audio quality
Cons
- Curved screen design is polarizing and raises concerns about fragility
- Scrolling fluidity is reported by some to be less refined than iOS
- Mixed reviews regarding video recording quality and night photography
- Potential for thermal throttling under heavy load according to some users
Caveats
- AI features are included but are generally tucked away and require user permission to activate
- Pricing and availability can fluctuate significantly, impacting its value proposition
- The physical design, including the glass back and curved edges, is perceived as delicate by some owners
Best for
- Users looking for flagship-level performance and display quality without the 'Samsung tax'
- People who prioritize fast charging and long-lasting battery life
- Fans of curved-edge displays and Hasselblad color science
Avoid if
- You have a strong preference for flat screens or rugged builds
- You require the absolute best-in-class video recording performance
- You are sensitive to minor differences in scrolling fluidity between Android and iOS

Recorded with OnePlus 12's slowmotion video capture; showing 240 fps, 120 fps, 60 fps and 30 fps respectively.
If you can find it, then OnePlus 12. ... The 12 would be the best.
I thought about getting a *OnePlus 12*, but - It's my pricier option - The curvy screens are usually quite fragile so I don't know if it's the phone for me - It just looks overall fragile, the screen, the back...
But I have heard good praises of OnePlus 12 and 13 with the cameras in particular being relatively great!
I have T-Mobile and I've had Oneplus phones for the past 7 years, currently a 12 and a 13 (yes, I use both lol.) None of them have ever had any issues with service.
I'm using the OnePlus 12. The camera is acceptable, but no phone's camera will ever surpass a dedicated camera.
Oneplus 12 was the device that I enjoyed the most in every way, apart from the curved screen that it had for me, I liked everything. The battery was good and I really liked the cameras.
I had a 12 and it was great.
I have a OnePlus 12 and it takes great pics.
I recently got a OnePlus 12 and while it does have AI features, it does all of them very tastefully. Most of them are tucked away in menus that you would never find unless you're looking for it. And pretty much every single AI thing asks your permission for the first time, which you can turn down and it would never bother you again on its own. The camera on this phone, and by extension the OnePlus 13, is great. It takes solid photos on all three of its lenses - wide, ultrawide and telephoto - and can record pretty good quality video. The screen and performance are just as good as any expensive flagship out there, and it feels buttery smooth.
