AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The AAA Daily Advantage card is highly recommended by users as a top-tier 'no annual fee' option for grocery and wholesale club spending. It is frequently praised for its 5% cashback on groceries and a rare 3% cashback rate at wholesale clubs like Costco and Sam's Club, supported by a generous $10,000 annual spend cap on the 5% category.

Pros

  • High 5% cashback on groceries with a generous $10,000 annual spend limit.
  • Rare 3% cashback on wholesale clubs (Costco, Sam's Club).
  • Broad 3% categories including gas, drug stores, streaming, and AAA services.
  • No annual fee.
  • Versatile enough to be used at Walmart and Target (often via PayPal for 5% on grocery pickup).

Cons

  • Total cashback is capped at $500 per year across all bonus categories.

Caveats

  • While some users mention 5% at wholesale clubs, the consensus is 3% for that category.
  • Achieving 5% at Walmart typically requires linking the card to PayPal for grocery pickup orders.
  • The card is issued by a third-party bank (Comenity/Bread Financial), which some users find less convenient than major national banks.

Best for

  • Families with high grocery budgets (up to $800/month).
  • Costco or Sam's Club members looking for a better wholesale cashback rate.
  • Users seeking a single card to cover groceries, gas, and drug stores without an annual fee.

Avoid if

  • Your annual spending in the bonus categories significantly exceeds the $10,000 cap.
  • You prefer to keep all your accounts with a single major national bank.

This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older (median age ~377 days), and while credit card rewards structures are generally stable, users should verify current terms as financial products can change.

I got the aaa daily advantage just for the fact it's so versatile and I can use it at walmart/target/costco as well.

If 5 is too much, you can do the AAA Daily Advantage in place of the CCC and everything else besides the Double Cash and Strata Premier. 5% groceries and 3% wholesale clubs up to a decently generous limit.

AAA daily advantage and Elan Max/USBank Cash+ are good to cover them. I get about $40-50 monthly back from it.
