Xiaomi G Pro 27i
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Xiaomi G Pro 27i is a high-value 1440p MiniLED monitor praised for its 1152 dimming zones and impressive HDR brightness at a competitive price point. However, user sentiment is heavily tempered by persistent reports of a 'red tint' bug in HDR mode and inconsistent firmware that can be difficult to update. While it offers a superior HDR experience compared to standard IPS panels, potential buyers should be prepared for a quality control lottery and the need to manually tweak settings to mitigate blooming and gamma shifts.
Pros
- High dimming zone count (1152 zones) for its price bracket
- Excellent HDR peak brightness and visual impact
- Strong value proposition for a MiniLED IPS display
- Dimming algorithm that effectively prioritizes contrast over blooming for many users
Cons
- Widespread reports of a 'red tint' bug, particularly when HDR is enabled
- Buggy, non-upgradable firmware (notably version 1.0.06)
- Inconsistent local dimming in SDR which can make the image excessively dark
- Quality control concerns including OSD freezes and units that turn off randomly
Caveats
- The red tint issue can sometimes be mitigated via GPU software (Nvidia/AMD) or cycling monitor modes, but users report these fixes can be temporary
- A successor model, the Redmi G Pro 27Q, has been noted as available in some regions
- IPS glow and viewing angles are reported as mediocre by some users, potentially affecting its use as a secondary screen
Best for
- Budget-focused HDR gaming
- Users prioritizing high zone counts and peak brightness over firmware stability
- Mixed office and gaming use within a 300-400 price range
Avoid if
- You want a 'plug-and-play' experience without firmware troubleshooting
- You are sensitive to color tinting or gamma shifts
- You require reliable local dimming for SDR content
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median source age of approximately 290 days; as monitor firmware and quality control can evolve, confidence is medium for this fast-changing hardware category.

Xiaomi has questionable QC and red tint issues, ... I have a feeling Xiaomi doesn't switch/remember local dimming settings when going between HDR and SDR, ... the Xiaomi is a good IPS MiniLED, but people are not quite as positive about it as the M27T6

Ohh yeah i saw some people from russia getting the Redmi G Pro 27Q which is by the way the successor to the Xiaomi G Pro 27i.
Personally i had a great experience with the Xiaomi, and even for the little brother of the KTC (had the 1440p version here). They both have a good algoryhthm that prefers contrast over blooming which i personally like best.
Kinda reminds me of when he finally reviewed the Xiaomi G Pro 27i which is ranked second in the brightness/apl chart right below the Mobiuz in question here
And like you said in your other answer, this was indeed the Xiaomi G Pro 27i, which even got a successor now, the Redmi G Pro 27Q, they are their naming lol.
The Xiaomi g pro 27i has a pretty widespread red tint problem
Xiaomi G Pro 27i - 250€. Probably the best MiniLED rn... The Xiaomi had quite noticeable blooming and firmware is a mixed bag especially with the red tint problem .
Xiaomi G Pro 27i, some of the models have an older firmware that has red tint when in HDR mode, but it’s easily fixable in Nvidia app or Adrenalin. I’ve been using it for half a year and HDR is gorgeous
An IPS MiniLED would be good for your needs, like the Xiaomi G Pro 27i.
