NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 is generally received as a capable 1440p graphics card that excels in ray tracing and leverages NVIDIA's latest software suite, though it is frequently criticized for its 12GB VRAM capacity. While it offers a significant performance uplift over the 5060 Ti and better power efficiency than older high-end cards like the 3080, many users feel it is overpriced compared to AMD competitors that offer more memory.
Pros
- Excellent performance in ray-tracing titles and 1440p gaming
- Access to DLSS 4.5 and advanced frame generation features
- High power efficiency, requiring less power than a 3080
- Significant performance boost over the 5060 Ti and 4070 series
Cons
- 12GB VRAM is viewed as a bottleneck for long-term 1440p gaming and high-res textures
- Perceived poor value compared to AMD's 9070 XT which offers more VRAM and raw speed
- Physical size can lead to fitment issues in standard cases
Caveats
- Some users reported technical issues including BSODs, driver stability, and incorrect PCIe lane reporting
- Longevity is a recurring concern due to the memory limit
- Upgrading from a 3080 Ti may not provide a large enough performance jump to justify the cost
Best for
- 1440p gaming with Ray Tracing enabled
- Users upgrading from mid-range 30-series or 40-series cards
- Gamers who prioritize NVIDIA's DLSS ecosystem over raw VRAM
Avoid if
- You require 16GB+ VRAM for future-proofing or specialized workloads
- You are looking for the absolute best price-to-performance ratio
- You have a small form factor case without checking clearance first

Well if it's exact same price and you can get 5070 new with 2y warranty, I say why not. 5070 uses 100W less power, should run cooler, quieter, it's brand new so less likely to fail, and it supports latest DLSS and stuff if you care about it, will also be supported for longer, and so on.
I think you'd be happy with the 5070 for $150 less, just some game will come along in the future where 12 gigs of vram starts to show it's age.
The biggest knock on the 5070 is 12 gigs of VRAM vs 16 for the 9070xt / 5070ti. But you do get all the nvidia upscaling goodness which can make a big difference at higher resolution. I think you'd be happy with the 5070 for $150 less
OP has already mentioned that their issue is lack of VRAM and that they want to stick with Nvidia cards. Both the 4060 and 5060 have lower VRAM than … That means OP is going to be looking at upgrading the GPU to a 4070 or 5070.
Lol the latest Nvidia driver causes fan not working properly and the after fix one dropped GPU performance by 20%.
The 5070 will have Dlss 5, draws much less power and produces less heat in real world scenarios, you get Nvenc, Cuda, performs better in RT scenarios etc..
OP just save up and keep saving until you can get a 5070 if you want a new card that's my advice and you'll be good.
If you don't MFG, the 5070 won't have a benefit …
I assume you have a 5070 and it's pretty comparable to the 4070 Ti. If you're into overclocking and have a high refresh rate 1440p monitor to make use of MFG - keep the 5070, overclock it and it will come ahead.
