ThermoWorks RFX

Pros

• This was also the first time I used my Thermoworks RFX that I brought back from the US - the range was far enough that I could sneakily check my temperature while in church 500 yards away! Can highly recommend.
• ThermoWorks Smoke, Signal, or RFX depending on what you're after in a probe. They all work great and have a really long range.
• I moved from meater to RFX and absolutely love it. Personally, the limited range of the gateway with the ambient sensor hasn't bothered me. I have never had connection problems with the RFX like I had with my Meater probes.
• I have had RFX for a year with absolutely no complaints. I have never regretted a ThermoWorks purchase.
• I have the RFX with 3 probes because I can fit 3 racks of ribs in my Kettle. It's nice not having to worry about cable management. I stick the probes in the meat in my kitchen and then walk outside to smoke. The WiFi range is very good

Cons

• I picked one up for rotisserie, only used it twice so far. I haven’t calibrated it but it does seem less accurate than my wired probe. I’ll use it a backup and for rotisserie but if I was selecting a single thermometer I’d go for a wired...
• The best for range seems to the RFX or combustion inc but both seem to have practical limitations to this (I.e. RFX ambient temp probe limits the range of the gateway).
• The rfx with 1 probe are $125 right now.
• This isn’t to say that the RFX isn’t a good thermometer because it is. If you really want wireless I’m sure you’ll be happy with it. However, I use the smoke for pretty much all my cooks except for rotisserie which is why I purchased an...
