TCL QM8

Pros

• Last year I purchased a 75" TCL QM8 as it has less then half of the price of a 77" OLED. I lived in Canada to without discount 77" OLED's were north of 4 grand while the 75" QM8's were under $2000.
• The QM8 is king of the picture.
• I've personally updated my 2024 QM8 using the instructions on avs forums. It's actually really easy to do.
• You need at least 65". Go U8N or QM8
• X90l or see if you can catch a tcl qm7 or 8 in 75” - lots of prime day discounts

Cons

• Even the flagship 2024 model QM8 hasn't received an update pushed OTA by TCL since October of 2024. ... It's bullshit.
• What's weird is when I first got my QM8 HGIG mapped at 2100 nits. Updating to v113 took it all the way down to 800. Detail Priority DTM mapped at 1650 and balance priority mapped at 1400. V217 HGIG still maps at 800 but any form of DTM w...
• First off I love my QM8 65inch, the picture is amazing and gaming is equally enjoyable. The problem is playing movies on any app even in YouTube. There’s a random pauses where the video stops and then continues playing for a second or two.
• Ghosting all the sudden is awful on TCL QM8. Ideas? Movie picture mode with dynamic acceleration off and motion smoothing off. Black stretch off. I don't know why it's SO BAD
• I just got my TCL qm8 and just made a post about the same thing. Mine is extremely bad. It's almost not playable.
