Unfortunately my beautiful wife just saw a video of the rattling lid and it’s off the table.
I grew up with a Tatung rice cooker, and I was usually the one tasked with cooking rice for my family, so it’s the old reliable for me, and I’m happy with it. No bells or whistles, no specialized settings or fuzzy logic. It’s on/off, and a switch between cook/warm.
If you’re in the market for a replacement, get yourself a Zoji/Tiger/Tatung and never have a headache about it again for at least the next decade.

I bought a second hand Tatung and it’s been great, pretty straightforward and I’ve heard they’re super durable/long lasting compared to higher tech ones
Not worth buying. Get a tatung instead.
I’d highly recommend a Tatung. Most popular rice cooker in Taiwan. They’re built to last and have know to go for 30 years +
