Sony Bravia Theatre Quad

Pros

• After using it with the Theatre Quad, I would honestly say the overall bass performance is good enough that Sony can absolutely compete in what I would consider the hi-fi territory.
• I upgraded to the Quads and didn’t expect a big difference but it’s truly amazing how good it sounds without a center channel. ... Quads instantly became my all time favorite. ... never had a single dropout or any issues.
• I have Sony Quads and a Sonos arc ultra immersive setup. The Quads have been my favorite wireless system for movies and the Sonos is good, but doesn’t provide the soundstage that the Quads provide.
• Can vouch for the Quads. Beyond happy with mine coupled with the SW5 sub.
• Now if you can swing it the Sony quads with a sub are probably the "best" all around but also likely 2x the price of the Samsung.

Cons

• Both the Quad and Trio sounded better overall than the HT-A9, with the exception of Atmos. The HT-A9, in my room, placed Atmos heights so well, it is dramatically different than both the Quad and Trio.

• Quad sounds good but not as good as 990 Series. ... The lack of center speaker and extra subwoofer makes it a lot weaker than 990.
• The quad definitely has a superior sound to it. The speakers are larger than I thought though and required kind of awkward placement. They were a little big on the speaker stands that fit the 990D rears. Also having to buy a separate sub...
• I really prefer the Quad as a shape, ease of connection, and its integration with my Bravia 8, but the price difference is very big to the point that I am not able to justify its price compared to the Q990F
