Shelly relay

Pros

• You can wire any button to a Shelly relay to get the same effect. I think they come in both zigbee and zwave, which are good enough for this.
• Could be as easy as adding something like a Shelly relay into the power line to simply disable power to the entire shutter when you want.
• Get a Shelly relay.
• I wired in a Shelly relay just in front of the fan in the attic. ... I’m in Southern California and I’m using one of the original Shelly relays and it has survived in my attic for many years.
• Alternatively, a shelly relay (dry contacts) and a conventional battery powered doorbell will work - shelly can made to play nicely with siri

Cons

• You can install a Shelly relay (pick one with esphome support, e.g i4 gen 3) in both of those switches.
• Shelly relay behind dumb switch. Seems to be able to do (2), but shelly doesn't do Thread (5), and I'm not certain (6) is possible.
• Shelly offer an enclosure for the Shelly relay. That’s the closest I’ve seen.
• Every once in a while, the Shelly relay loses it's little computer brain, and since it's in the ceiling, there is no way to reset it. But I just flip the breaker to reset it, and it's connected back before I make it back to the office.
• You could put a Shelly relay somewhere in the feed to the switches. But, that most likely wouldn’t be a DIY.
