Pros

  • my manduka GRP was such a great investment and has done me right for two years now.
  • Manduka GRP has been fantastic for me and my grip. It has plenty of padding (for me) and has held up great in all of my heated classes, and I sweat *a lot*.
  • The Manduka GRP on the other hand. It a fantastic mat! It’s 5mm thick, which might be the same that Liforme boasts, but does have a nice amount of squish to it, without being actually squishy. It’s also like half the price, and will last...
  • I like the manduka GRP. Lasted so much longer than liforme.
  • the GRP is the closest thing to a Liforme mat on the market (for half the price)

Cons

  • The manduka GRP is not remotely comparable to the liforme imo (I use to own one). While it’s helpful for sweaters I still had to use a yoga towel.
  • I couldn't really wipe my GRP down and bought a light color so every place my forehead touched left a mark. I ended up returning it because I didn't like the dirty look

look into the Manduka GRP, or the Ekolite… I personally love my Ekolite, and use it for all manner of practices. I didn’t need to do any weird break in ritual with it, just regular use has been fine. The GRP isn’t really available in Canada (I own a studio and wholesale of that mat isn’t an option for us) but I have used it before and like it…

I will say I replaced a Manduka GRP after 5 years of 3-5 days per week wear and I thought that was fair.

Anyway, Liforme and Manduka GRP are my favorite mats out of the ones I own because for me they’re not slippery right off the bat, no break in time. GRP is more absorbent if I know I’m going to be sweating buckets.
