Pros

  • My previous laptop was a 13” Intel MacBook Pro (2017), and honestly… that old machine sounds fuller, warmer, and more “present” than the new Air.
  • Yea I loved it too, I couldn’t believe that it supposedly should be the worst macbook ever. And it’s beautiful
  • I have a 13” 2017 with the touchbar, I love it. I’m also really not asking much from it at this point, word processing and Telehealth appointments, streaming stuff. Still works great, it’s pretty beat up but it has character.
  • I also think that the pro 2017 is best looking MacBook or laptop in general! That shit was so beautiful, and the new MacBooks look’s way inferior. cheaper and bulkier.
  • I have used MacBook Pro 2017 with 256 GB since 2019 and today it still has 100 GB free space.

Cons

  • I've never had as many issues with a laptop as I had with my 2017 MacBook Pro. The keyboard was nearly non-functional and had several keys get stuck through no fault of my own (Apple admitted this to me and even gave me a free keyboard r...
  • My MacBook Pro 2017 recieved 7 years support and updates. After period end you can't install new update from apps example latest MacBook Pro 2017 latest Mac OS support is Mac OS Ventura.
  • My MacBook Pro (2017) just died. Battery won’t charge.

I've never had as many issues with a laptop as I had with my 2017 MacBook Pro. The keyboard was nearly non-functional and had several keys get stuck through no fault of my own (Apple admitted this to me and even gave me a free keyboard replacement because it was so awful), it overheated constantly (even just using Microsoft Word, Chrome, and Preview), the screen scratched very easily, difficult/expensive to repair due to the solid state construction, only 2 USB-C ports meant that I couldn't ever hook it up to a TV/hard drive/USB drive/etc.

256 GB is enough. My previous MacBook Pro 2017 has 256 GB. Used it since 2019 to 2015 still has 100 GB free space.

I have a MacBook Pro 2017 and it’s running fine. I had to replace the battery a few months back just like you need to and it’s now staying charged much longer.
