LG C2
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The LG C2 is a highly praised OLED display that functions effectively as both a premium television and a large-format gaming monitor. While users celebrate its exceptional image clarity and lack of ghosting, long-term reliability is a point of contention with several reports of panel failures after two years of use.
Pros
- Exceptional 4K gaming performance with zero ghosting
- High image clarity and deep blacks characteristic of OLED
- Versatile enough to be used as a primary PC monitor
- Positive reports of manufacturer support for out-of-warranty screen replacements in some regions
Cons
- Reports of hardware failure, including dead pixel clusters and vertical lines, after approximately 24 months
- 120Hz refresh rate may be insufficient for some competitive PC gamers
- Brightness can be outperformed by Mini LED displays in very bright rooms
- Shadow dithering issues noted by some enthusiasts
Caveats
- Longevity is mixed; while some users report no issues after 3 years, others experienced total panel failure or dead pixels shortly after the 2-year/1,000-hour mark.
Best for
- 4K gaming
- Dark-room home theater setups
- Users wanting a large-format OLED monitor
Avoid if
- The room has significant sunlight or large windows
- You require a refresh rate higher than 120Hz
- You are highly concerned about potential out-of-warranty repair costs
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older, with a median age of 293 days, which may not reflect the current market context for this fast-changing hardware category.

I have *some* sunlight with my 3 year old C2 on the desk - and it’s great.
Hell even the C2 and C3 are good if you find them used for cheap.
i have a couple of lg c2's, they are both fine so far, knock on wood
Parent context: i have a dell alienware oled and never have i thought it needs more brightness. also my LG C2 TV; the brightness can be overpowering. ... Reply: Had the C2 as well as multiple QD-OLED/WOLED up to Tandem but they are still kinda lacking if windows get larger than like 2%, especially in comparison to Mini LED.
When I got my C2 I spent like 2 hours calibrating it and I never noticed judder.
My LG C2 broke
Probably getting a cheap TV to replace my LG C2 that died on me over a month ago.
LG are a privacy NIGHTMARE! They take screen captures and audio from up to 70 feet away!, and send these back to LG. ... I have a C2 and it will NEVER be plugged back in to my network again, ever.
I went and looked on my 77 lgc2, and those channels didnt look great on it either.
I am debating going up from my 65” c2 to a 77 c5 or whatever the new model is. I really like your setup and it looks super comfortable
