Pros

• If you want great function without he safety tech, Laguna or Harvey would be where Id look.
• If you want to do a lot of resawing, then I’d get a Laguna, which also seem pretty common, but will be at the upper end of the price range mentioned.
• I haven't run into an issue with mine yet, but it looks like Laguna has a similar model but with a much larger motor for about the same price I'd probably get instead if I was buying now.
• The Rikon 10 Deluxe and the Laguna V10 are at the top of my list.
• Laguna outlet for the win. Call them. Website inventory is often stale. 18BX or LT16 ought to do it. I’ve had the 14BX before and now the LT 18 and love them. The 18 is an ACM with a 5hp Leeson. Beastly

Cons

• Prior to getting that I was looking into Laguna. Their reputation for customer service is horrible.
• You may be able to find an 8 inch Laguna, Scorpion, Shop Fox, or Jet that's less than 10 years old.
• I have the Laguna - great unit, just never expect their customer service to solve any problem.
• From what I've heard, Laguna after care is shocking and poor. But their machines are built strong and they are a top quality machine. I used to work in a woodwork retail store and sold them, they are great machines.
• From the pictures it seems like the Harvey has a better mechanism to tilt the table and some people mentioned they had issues with the Laguna table tilt breaking handles etc.
