Pros

  • I have some 2023 Larceny's and they are still solid pours.
  • Starting in 2013, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof became a national release allowing the Heaven Hill standard bourbon mash bill (God’s mash bill) of 78% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley to become available, unadulterated, at cask strength. The...
  • I really like the Larceny, I’d need to do a blind to really get a clear choice
  • However, after tasting through the samples, I was impressed by both this and the larceny that was on offer, and grabbed a bottle of each!
  • Larceny in my opinion is very under rated but amazing price point

Cons

  • That WLW and Larceny sounds like dead pours... a damn shame.
  • Yeah when I compare it to something like a Larceny or Green River in their barrel proof versions I consider this one “low proof” since those are usually above 120..
  • 4 - Eh… (Larceny, WRDO)
  • Would Larceny be similar enough based on availability?
  • I generally don't like Heaven Hill's wheated bourbon (I have never found a Larceny bottle that agreed with me)

Starting in 2013, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof became a national release allowing the Heaven Hill standard bourbon mash bill (God’s mash bill) of 78% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley to become available, unadulterated, at cask strength. Then in 2019, they made Larceny, their wheater mash bill of 68% corn, 20% wheat, 12% malted barley, also available in barrel proof as a national release.
