Pros
- +1 for the Bar 500.
- I switched to the JBL Bar 500 a few months ago and honestly, it’s been solid. No connection issues, the sub hits hard, and the Dolby Atmos actually makes a difference. Totally worth it for under $500.
- JBL bar 500 is also a good choice!
- I have the JBL Bar 500 and I think it's pretty good for the price. ... Dialogue is crisp and sound effects are good (Interstellar and Prometheus spaceship rumble, Prey when hatchet is thunking into trees, Furiosa engine shaking, Blade Ru...
- I like the versatility of the jbl as well with access to music apps and room correction.
Cons
- I wanted to test out the JBL bar 500 with subwoofer or something or the JBL deep bass, but I didn't get a chance
- I would have suggested a JBl Bar 500 but it’s a bit too big for you maybe.
- Parent context: What’s wild is JBL and Polk both appear to fall under Samsung (parent company). It’s wild how many of the audio brands fall under them now. I ordered the Signa S4 as well and strongly considered the JBL Bar 500. The 10” s...
- I've had many soundbar setups ranging from the JBL Bar 3.1, Bar 500, Sonos Arc + Sub Mini, Samsung Q800B, Sony S2000 + SW5 (garbage), & a few others.
- First was the JBL Bar 500. Tons of bass, but I just couldn’t get the dialogue to sound right.

Parent context: What’s wild is JBL and Polk both appear to fall under Samsung (parent company). It’s wild how many of the audio brands fall under them now. I ordered the Signa S4 as well and strongly considered the JBL Bar 500. The 10” sub at least at a friend’s house overwhelmed the sound from the bar. How do you like the 5.9” Signa S4 sub? Reply: I was also considering the same JBL as you last year, and I might've gone with it had I not stumbled upon a really good sale with the Polk. The one thing I was hesitant about regarding the JBL was how strong JBL is known for their bass, and I wasn't sure if I wanted that in a soundbar.

I have the JBL Bar 500 and I think it's pretty good for the price. ... Dialogue is crisp and sound effects are good (Interstellar and Prometheus spaceship rumble, Prey when hatchet is thunking into trees, Furiosa engine shaking, Blade Runner 2049 and Pacific Rim raining and other scenes). The soundbar is miles better than the default LG C4 tv speakers.
JBL 500 is a bit too much bass which give me stress for long term use. ... Idk what they did but that 500's subwoofer sounded way too punchy & honestly struggling compared to the Bar 3.1.
