  • I've found that many of their models punch so *far* above their price range, in terms of features and appointments, that it's actually kind of nuts.
  • I have heard good things about the quality of Harley Benton for the price. I played one of their double-neck SG copies once and I was very impressed with how it felt.
  • Harley Benton offers surprisingly good quality for the price, especially when compared against their competitors.
  • I would recommend Jackson, Ibanez Harley Benton, or something similar.

Cons

  • I would take cheap Yamaha over Harley Benton every day of the week.
  • Harley Benton side of cheap stuff has coil splits.
  • Harley benton or schecter are the inly real options in that price point.

Getting a kit from Harley Benton is a great way to build your first guitar. The quality of the materials is surprisingly good for the price, and if you spend some extra time on the frets and finish, and throw some better pickups in, you could have something as good as a Mexican strat for less than half the price.

However if shipping isn’t too expensive and you wanna go with something online I’ve heard good things about Harley Benton for around that price.
