if you can stretch your budget a bit, go for a 7 or an 8 string GOC, as the 7-string HILS is already about $800. They're on par or even superior to my Strandbergs.

In conclusion: get a GOC. They are exceptional instruments, constructed at a level comparable to certain Prestige Ibanez models and slightly superior to my Strandberg. Furthermore, their customer service is great.

The bridge is a masterpiece. It scores a 1000/10. It is easy to adjust and allows for smooth tuning. None of my other nine guitars tune as effectively as the GOC.

The GOC neck profile represents an ideal blend of the EndurNeck and the Wizard profile from Ibanez. On a scale of 1 to 10 regarding comfort, this guitar rates a 9/10. It also features side Luminlay dots, which appear excellent. The frets are stainless steel, properly installed, and free from sprouting.

GOC is a French company and while I would expect them to manufacture in China as well, their products seem to be in a totally different class. People are generally extremely happy with theirs, and compare them and some even prefer theirs to guitars costing $2k-$3k.
