Pros

• if you want something strictly more formal get the Cartier.
• My Santos and the Tank I got for my mom are so incredibly well built and finished that I find them to be on par with Rolex at about half to a third of the cost.
• Can buy a preowned Cartier Tank at that point, which is the grandfather of this design anyway.

Cons

• I tried the "obvious choices" like Speedmaster/AT, Rolex DJ/OP (I sold my Submariner Date for the SeaQ, dont regret it for one second) and Cartier Santos/Tank - they dont really speak to me.
• Parent context: Reddit sure loves small watches. This would fit fine if he wore it above the wrist bone. Reply: Tanks just look better smaller
