Pros

  • The Strix B850 isn't worth an extra $65 when the B650E will do the same, with essentially the same ports/connections/headers/data lanes and for all intents and purposes is the same motherboard.
  • If you must have PCIe 5.0, try and find a B650E.
  • Strong B650>X670. Only go for X670 if you intend to extremely overclock your CPU (which the 7800X3D isn't amazing at) or if it has the, like, 32 USB-C ports you need.
  • It's a slightly better motherboard but a B650E is probably all gamers will need.
  • B650E definitely does, original B650 from MSI definitely does not

Cons

  • You could still go with AM5, like a 9600x, 16gb of DDR5 and a B650e...

If you plan on wanting to exclusively use Gen 5 SSDs then you’d have to go with B650E, B850, or other Gen 5 compatible motherboards.

Well you can get rid of the rather useless 480gb SSD, downgrade to a 7600X, could downgrade to a b650E(still VERY solid) and 4800mhz and cl40 ram is just....meh
