Xiaomi 15
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Xiaomi 15 is a compact flagship that balances high-end performance with a smaller form factor, making it a frequent alternative to the Galaxy S25. While users praise its battery life, fast charging, and versatile camera system, opinions are mixed regarding its long-term software support and thermal management under load.
Pros
- Compact 6.36-inch design that is highly regarded for one-handed use.
- Excellent battery endurance, with users reporting up to 10 hours of screen-on time.
- Strong performance driven by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
- Versatile camera features, including a specifically praised telephoto macro mode.
- Fast charging capabilities, capable of reaching 80% from 20% in approximately ten minutes.
Cons
- Thermal issues where the device heats up due to high processor frequencies.
- Software support concerns, with some users noting only 3 years of OS updates remaining.
- Reliability quirks such as missed calls while on vibration and occasional unexpected battery drain.
- Reports of hardware fragility, including display lines appearing after the device gets hot.
Caveats
- Significant differences exist between the Chinese and Global versions, particularly regarding native language support and Google AI integration.
- Authorized service center experiences have been reported as poor by some users.
- The tall aspect ratio and HyperOS skin may not appeal to fans of vanilla Android.
Best for
- Users looking for a powerful Android flagship in a compact size.
- Mobile photographers who want a strong telephoto macro lens.
- Power users who prioritize fast charging and all-day battery life.
Avoid if
- You require industry-leading long-term software update guarantees.
- You are sensitive to device heat during multitasking or gaming.
- You prefer a stock Android experience over heavy manufacturer skins.

Like i bought xiaomi 15 for about 150 bucks and cant be happier after iphone
The Xiaomi 15 has a great processor, multitasking, and a smooth system. It has a 16:1 configuration, but it's a Chinese version (my native language isn't supported, but that's not the point). It has good battery life. If you drain the battery from 100 to 0, you'll get an average of 10 hours of screen time. I'm happy with everything and take care of it as best I can.
Xiaomi 15, Xiaomi 17 (global release in january), Vivo 200 FE, Vivo X300
I just got a Xiaomi 15 last month, as the 17 is not yet available. Im glad, its "small" , very good camera, last android feature and im surprised by the Xiaomi AI features from HyperOS.
