AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is widely regarded as a premium powerhouse, praised for its exceptional battery life (averaging 9-11 hours of screen-on time) and its versatile quad-camera system. Users highlight the 7-year software update commitment and the significant processor performance jump over previous generations as key selling points. However, the device's ergonomics are polarizing; while the titanium build is seen as premium, the sharp, flat-edged design is described by some as bulky and uncomfortable. While sentiment is generally positive, many reviewers suggest the phone is best purchased at a discount rather than at its high launch price.

Pros

  • Exceptional battery life with 9-11 hours of Screen on Time and low idle drain
  • Long-term 7-year OS update support
  • Versatile quad-camera setup with periscope zoom and manual Pro Video controls
  • Premium titanium build and high-quality display
  • Significant processor performance improvement over the S24 Ultra

Cons

  • Sharp, flat-sided design can feel overly large and unergonomic
  • High MSRP makes it a questionable value compared to discounted previous models
  • Potential reliability concerns regarding screen lines
  • Base 256GB storage can fill up quickly for power users

Caveats

  • Photo processing is a matter of preference, with some users still favoring iPhone or Pixel color science
  • The user experience is often described as being 90% similar to the S24 Ultra, making the upgrade path debatable for some

Best for

  • Power users who need all-day battery for heavy tasks
  • Mobile photographers who prioritize zoom and manual camera settings
  • Long-term owners who want a device supported for 7 years

Avoid if

  • You prefer curved edges or more ergonomic, one-handed phone designs
  • You are looking for the best value-to-performance ratio without waiting for sales
  • You prefer the specific software features or photo aesthetics of the Google Pixel

For the longevity, my S25 ultra has 7 years of OS system updates. ... My samsung cost me $1200. If I kept buying cheap phones it would have cost me $200 more over that 7 year period.

His S25 feels like its much larger cos of bad design, sharp flat huge sides, smaller curve and no back or front curves at all.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Versatile quad-camera setup (high-res main sensor, multiple zooms including periscope for detailed close-ups without cropping), 8K video, Pro Video mode for manual controls (ISO, shutter, etc.), and strong low-light/night performance.

I can say that I had the S24 Ultra, it had some damage on a lens and for $100 they upgraded me to a S25 Ultra (edit I had insurance on the phone) Wow, that was a huge upgrade. I looked at the S26 but took a hard pass.

The S25 Ultra is worth it if you genuinely care about the zoom cameras, huge screen or S Pen, but I wouldn’t pay anywhere near full price now. At a proper unlocked discount it’s still a great long-term phone. Otherwise, the S25+ or a discounted S24 Ultra will probably give you 90% of the experience for less.

If I do carry a power bank, it will be in a my little cross body personal item bag, not in my pocket. It will charge my S25 Ultra from 20->85% twice which lets me play with my phone all day.

For the 512 that’s a pretty good deal, not sure how much better the s26 will be, doubt all that much
