I loved We Need To Talk About Kevin and I DO have kids. It's one of those books that really looks at the harder side of parenting when so much of life just glosses over it.
Parent context: I think I'll probably try watching the movie adaptation of *We Need to Talk About Kevin*. It'll be much less of a time commitment at least and I wonder how much of what I found too uncomfortable to read will be translated to the movie. Reply: The book is waaaaaay more violent than the movie and also depicts a ton of graphic sex which also isn't my thing. The movie streamlines a lot of the plot and gratuitous sex and violence.
