Subnautica

Pros

• Few games stick the landing the way the original subnautica did. Getting that cyclops finally built, provisioning and stocking it, and then taking her deep down into the nightmarish depths. Unparalleled gaming experience.
• I am someone who enjoys a creepy/horror-adjacent story and environment (recently favorites for me were Subnautica and Returnal)
• I played the original Subnautica in 2019, back-to-back with SOMA and Alien Isolation. The three formed a sort of purple patch in my gaming history that I haven't recreated since and all are top tier games for me.
• The other end of the spectrum treats crafting as part of the game and builds around it, such as Subnautica. The crafting is a system built into the progression of the game
