I like the built in heat sink on my WD Black. Don't really get why you would want to remove it.
If it was me, I would get a wd black, and get rid of the blue SSD. There is a difference.
I like WD Black, Samsung is great, TeamGroup MP44+ even (offers a little savings), check reviews on Toms Hardware website if you want to go deeper.
I keep a external 3.5" cradle with USB 3 for this. A WD Black or three.

Taking them off is not always easy and I recently destroyed a WD black trying to do just that...
Samsung 990 and WD black are overkill for gaming. You really don't need overpriced SSDs these days.
