Pros
- God knows what plans Broadcom has, but if you do homelab for getting enterprise experience, you better use ESXi though.
- I ran a dual processor E5-2650v2 server for a number of years (upgraded earlier this year) first with ESXi and then Proxmox and it was rock solid.

- Highly disagree. Broadcom is killing off whitelabel partners as well. Only the top enterprise customers will be serviced. It's not even worth learning anymore. I have and had my VCP and I'm not going to renew as it's not even meaningful...
- Also, esxi isn't a good pick anymore. Free version will be killed off again. Go with Proxmox.
- Well it's owned by Broadcom and is running ESXi 6.0.0, that's malware enough for my environment.

For many it was a great with way if they were exposed to ESXi in the work environment until VMware kicked them the teeth.
