Pros

  • For the indie brands and designer, you'd probably have better luck on Vinted or the Real Real.
  • go to John Lewis and M&S to try some of their clothes, take note of your size for each item (depending on the brand/subbrand, cut, etc.), then buy them off Vinted for like 50-80% off.
  • Vinted delivers again: Edward Green Piccadilly loafers Found this pair of Edward Green Piccadilly loafers on Vinted for about 1/5 of the retail price.
  • Formal dresses often turn up in thrift and consignment shops and in online thrift spaces like Vinted, Depop, Poshmark, and eBay.
  • I love it right now because of the free shipping! I usually hate buying on Mercari or Poshmark because by the time tax and shipping are factored in, I might as well buy new. I've been able to buy new and barely used clothes for my kids f...

Cons

  • tried searching on depop and vinted... nothing gives me that consistent result of here is the actual look, here are the affordable versions that actually work.
  • I've tried Mercari, Poshmark, Vinted, eBay... it seems most people still want to sell things for almost new prices, that's not why I'm buying resale.
  • I’d ideally like to buy secondhand (e.g. Vinted or similar), but I want to make sure I’m not accidentally buying fast fashion resold at an inflated price.
  • I feel like I'm running in circles trying to find things I like, and then attempting to find the exact same thing in the same colourway, good condition, and a sensible size on vinted... (still listed for £50 of course.) ... I keep seeing...

Buying has been mostly fine. I’ve had some clothes that don’t fit, but that’s the risk you take. I just sold them on. Selling is a pain. People expect something for nothing. I list with fair prices and research first yet I still get loads of 40% off offers.

Experience has been mostly good, especially when using the platform payment because it automatically arranges the shipping and I just have to pack and bring the item to the post office and the buyer pays
