I had a carry-on Tumi for years that was amazing. Flight attendants and pilots would compliment it, the handle had a cool and unusual swivel function, and the wheels were perfect. But the form factor wasn't optimal and the handle broke after a while. Tumi couldn't replace it so they installed a basic handle and the swivel function I loved was lost. A zipper also eventually broke as well.
That said, for bags, I find companies like Tumi or Tom Bihn to be more expensive than they're worth.

I loved Tumi for years but I’ve noticed their quality isn’t what it used to be and the warranty has dwindled. It’s a pain to get bags repaired (and I have a Tumi within walking distance of my office) with them.
