Trafalgar

I did NOT enjoy GET/Trafalgar tours to 5 European countries. They act like everything is included then on the bus on Day 1 the tour guy spent ONE HOUR going over all the ‘extra excursions’ you could do (which was all the ‘good’ stuff like river boats down the Rhine w lunch, etc ). So after paying $2700 for the tour you then were asked to shell out $1,000 right then and there to sign up. And guess what? 38 out of 40 of us did! No way. So the 2 of us that didn’t were oftentimes left alone by 10:30 am or so when the ‘free guided tour’ was over while the entire tour group left us. Never again!!

The hotels were usually not well located, and the tour guide did some scare-mongering a few times, which I suspect was them trying to sell optional activities (almost no activities were included, so that might be a budget consideration). I would not do another Trafalgar tour and wouldn’t have done that one if it hadn’t been as shockingly cheap as it was (they were trying to run the trip at capacity) because the guide very clearly didn’t appreciate people who weren’t doing the optional activities.
