AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote

The Thermalright Royal Knight is a dual-tower air cooler specifically designed to solve RAM clearance issues. It utilizes an offset heatsink design and a slim front fan to ensure compatibility with tall memory modules and to keep RGB RAM visible. While it is noted to perform slightly behind top-tier models like the Phantom Spirit, it is highly regarded for its value, often appearing at significantly lower price points than its siblings while maintaining sufficient cooling for most consumer CPUs.

Pros

  • Excellent RAM clearance due to an offset heatsink and slim front fan
  • Aggressive pricing, frequently cited as a high-value alternative to more expensive dual-tower coolers
  • Compatible with cases that have a 155mm cooler height limit
  • Allows RGB RAM to remain visible rather than being covered by the cooler

Cons

  • Slightly lower thermal performance compared to the Thermalright Phantom Spirit or standard Peerless Assassin

Caveats

  • The use of a slim front fan and offset design results in a minor performance tradeoff for the sake of clearance
  • Source patterns indicate a medium promotion risk

Best for

  • Builders using tall or RGB RAM modules
  • Budget-conscious builds needing dual-tower cooling performance
  • Cases with restricted CPU cooler height (up to 155mm)

Avoid if

  • Maximum thermal performance is the only priority and RAM clearance is not an issue
  • You prefer a standard full-thickness front fan for maximum airflow

well like lancool 207 for case and either royal knight or aqua elite v6 for cooler and something a-tier like pure power 13 m 850w if intel or for am4 build even a B+ tier you could get away with like an asrock pro-750g if a-tier pg-750g is too expensive but you have the budget and don't want to skimp on psu.

if your case is compatible with 155mm coolers [get a royal knight for $25]

Something like the [Scythe Fuma 3](https://www.scytheus.com/fuma-3) or [Thermalright Royal Knight](https://www.thermalright.com/product/royal-knight-120-black/) coolers should suit that setup. They are dual tower air coolers that have an offset design with the front fan recessed so that you have full clearance for the RAM.

Air cooler will obviously be Thermalright (Peerless Assassin, Phantom Spirit or Royal Knight).

Thermalright royal knight is the variant that has maximum ram clearance. Because of its design and slim fan up front. It’s not as good as the phantom spirit, but maybe enough for whatever cpu you’re using and whatever you use case is.

The Thermalright Royal Knight is offset and should avoid interference with the RAM.

The Thermalright Royal Knight is on super sale, less than $20 for a cooler that performs on par with the Arctic.
