Pros

• The drive should just throttle on its own. If you use the heatsink that comes on the motherboard there, it should be able to dump hest for short bursts of read and write.
• I got a *very* good deal on this gen 5 SSD. It's as cheap or cheaper than a Gen 4 drive.
• Just take out the big-ass cooler that comes with your SSD and use your motherboard heatsink. It probably will perform better, combination of just large heat sink area to soak more heat, and just from your case fans circulating air and ta...
• Should run just fine using the motherboard heatsink.

Cons

• The drive will throttle on it's own, you don't need to do anything extra. Gen 4 vs 5 or whatever slot you want to use doesn't matter here because none of it makes any real difference for gaming.
• Unfortunately given it has the ig5666 controller, it runs hot as hell and needs the cooling.
• Remove the dumb heatsink, easy fix
