The 27G64 is another great monitor, especially for the price, and it’s also an HVA panel.
This unit doesn’t have dead pixels, but it does have one red subpixel defect. It’s only visible with a synthetic test on a full red or magenta screen, but in normal use I can’t see it, so I think I’ll keep it. I don’t think that’s a bad decision because it has excellent color uniformity and no bleed.
unfortunately I had bad luck with the 27G64: first one came with dead pixels and dust under the screen, sent it back, second one had even worse dead pixel clusters, had to send it back too. From various reviews online I see that is quite common for this model to have dead pixels, so my advice is at least to check for them. It's a shame because the monitor itself is a good piece of hardware, local dimming works great and with local dimming set as high it can reach as much as 850 nits
I just bought a TCL 27G64. My previous monitor was a Gigabyte G27F, and I thought I wouldn’t like this new one because it’s an IPS, but I really love it.
Cheaper but noticeably fewer zones and lower HDR tier, newer brand with little independent review data
