Soundcore A30s
Reddit take
AI summary of the Reddit excerpts below — not a quote
The Soundcore A30s are specialized sleep earbuds distinguished by the inclusion of Active Noise Canceling (ANC), a rare feature in this category. While users frequently praise their compact design and comfort for side sleepers, the actual performance of the ANC is polarizing. Many find it helpful for general background noise, but others describe it as insufficient for loud snoring. Software stability and battery life—particularly when ANC is active—are the primary points of contention among reviewers.
Pros
- Compact and comfortable design suitable for side sleepers
- Includes Active Noise Canceling (ANC), which is uncommon for sleep-specific buds
- Robust sound library with the ability to layer multiple sounds for customization
- Generally positive reputation for Anker/Soundcore customer support
Cons
- Inconsistent ANC performance that may fail to block heavy snoring
- Battery life is often insufficient to last the full night when ANC is enabled
- Reported software bugs, including issues with Bluetooth connectivity and gesture controls
- Higher price point compared to the previous A20 model without a perceived proportional upgrade in value
Caveats
- Achieving an effective noise seal may require using larger ear tips than expected and specific positioning
- The internal alarm may fail to trigger if the battery dies overnight due to high power consumption from ANC and Bluetooth modes
- Some users prefer the older A20 model for its superior battery life and lower cost
Best for
- Side sleepers who prioritize a small form factor
- Users who want to layer custom background noises rather than just using single tracks
- People looking to dampen moderate ambient environmental noise
Avoid if
- You need a guaranteed 8+ hours of battery life with ANC active
- You are primarily trying to block extremely loud, close-range snoring
- You are sensitive to software/firmware bugs and connectivity issues
This summary uses balanced time weighting with about a 6-month half-life. The evidence is older (median age ~382 days), which may mean some reported software or firmware issues have been addressed in subsequent updates.

I've been using the A30s since they got here. No complaints or issues with those so far. I sleep exclusively on my sides.
But if you can stand combining some sort of earbuds (I like the A20s, and the new A30s are probably better, but those are both more expensive than you want)
After the update they really aren't bad for general background noise. I put them on before bed and lay on the couch as my spouse is watching tv at a normal volume and it is all very muted. It helps me relax in general.
I have the Soundcore A30s and in this case I do use the app to load a noise track to the earbuds. ... I usually wake up with 10-20% battery left after playing local audio for 8+ hours with ANC enabled (which also consumes power). ... The ANC isn't super strong, like my big Sony cans, but it makes a noticeable difference.
I have Soundcore A30s and they honestly have changed my life. I created my own background sounds from their software and have downloaded them into the earbuds with brown and green noise which effectively blocks out my spouse's snoring, and blocks out other noises as well
I use SoundCore A30s for sleep. ... The A30s have ANC. It's on the weak side, but I do find they block noise a bit more than the A20s which do not have ANC.
The Soundcores are fine for spoken word and white noise, but a little flat for music. They sound OK though. No distortion, just no oomph. I like the white noise feature of the Soundcores a lot.
I have the A30s and they are great. I removed the little wing shaped things and find them almost as comfortable as my Shure SE series.
The Soundcore A20s or A30s are great for sleep. Music does sound a little flat compared to a good pair of headphones or earbuds. They are great for white noise and spoken word.
The Soundcore A20s and A30s are bluetooth headphone, however they play white noise that that can be downloaded directly to the earbud. They are specifically made for sleep.
