Sound Devices

Pros

• But mostly it’s been Sound devices and Lectro’s, with a few F8n’s here and there.
• More in a software/support side, I’ve heard support and support time is good, but I still think Sound Devices is on another level.
• Sound Devices, Shure and Lectrosonics are below 3 Ms, 2 Ms can be selected on the Shure system, less than 2 on Sound Devices and Nu Hybrid is 1.6 on Lectro.
• If you have a Sound Devices, utilize your Wingman or SD app to take notes on everything.
• If you do take the plunge into pro-wireless, look into other brands like Wisycom, Sound Devices, and Shure.

Cons

• There are noise reduction plug ins for some Field Recorders like sound devices - but I would only use that for scratch tracks to camera
• you would record all your mics to a Zoom F series or a Sound Devices unless you have something else in mind or available.
• Experienced sound mixers in my region (Australia) have the usual industry standards (Sound Devices, Lectrosonics, Wisycom, Zaxcom)
• Sound Devices is great but expensive
