Pros

• If you need Dante, the 888 is a great choice, if you have any Wisycom slot receivers the integration with the SL-2 on the 888 is a game changer.
• The 888 is a marvelous machine but there are situations where going for a computer rig starts making more sense.
• Absolute do go for an 888 ! You will regret going for less!
• I can't think of a better mixer than the 888 then.
• we also have a few 833 and/or 888 with 2 quad Wisycom Rx and a CMIT ready to go

Cons

• With the 888 don't forget about the extra weight and reduced battery life compared to the Zoom.
• you can also use it as a secondary machine in a car that will drive away or sync it to the 888 and use it for overflow channels
• I use a 888 myself, so do not know if it works with a mix pre, but the sd remote app has ‘mute’ button.
• I use a 888 myself.
• I’m an 888 user, and while I’ve never had a problem mid take, I have had it freeze up a couple of times over the past 2 years (usually metadata or app related)
