Reddit take

Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.

Pros

  • I heard that era 300 really care about having walls on both sides to bounce the sound off since the forward driver is turned off in surround mode. So I went with era 100 since im in an open floor plan.
  • Sonos products are mostly solid sounding across the line, however the best quality for price products I feel are the Era 100's, Arc, & Sub Mini.
  • I started with an ARC and then added Era 100s and a Sub mini. It sounds incredible and it's simple (vs a full AVR system).
  • It worked reasonably well on my Sonos ERA 100 which I use for my bedstand, therefore like to use before going to sleep or after waking up.
  • A musician friend of mine recommended Sonos to me — he uses their speakers and says they’re great for everyday listening and casual enjoyment.

Cons

  • I was coming from a Sonos beam gen 2, a sub mini, and two era 100s, and my new system blows it out of the water.
  • Had them as a stereo pair with the Sub Mini & it worked okay but maybe a tad more issues than before. Sometimes a speaker would drop from the stereo pairing & I'd have to reboot it all again.

I was much more impressed by the Era 100 so I bought another one to make a pair. So while I saved & waited for an open box deal on the Arc, I just went with the Era 100's in stereo + the sub mini. Awesome setup

Yeah man I can definitely tell I overpaid and what made it obvious was the sound quality coming from my Era100. It was only £250 and I much prefer the sound from that over my bar

I did end up buying the Sonos mini-sub and 2 100s for surround afterwards, but that’s just me. I tend to go overboard.
