Sennheiser evolution wireless G3

Pros

• So I've been doing some field recording with borrowed gear for 3 months now (mix pre 10, couple of lavs with G3s, Sennheiser MK600 for the boom)
• I used Sennheiser G3s for 10 years out of my 15-year career and decided to change only once I was working on a crazy 35-page/day fiction series where any glitch or technical error was simply not allowed!
• IMO the analog sennheiser kits are a great starter. Can be found second hand at an affordable cost, you can do the sma antenna mod very easily, and have enough to invest in some good starter lav mics
• I started with a zoom f8, sennheiser G3 wireless with Tram mics and a sennheiser 416. Good for indie starter projects.
• They're the lowest quality I'd go to get decent sound out of anything, and they're pretty durable little things (I've been using mine for years).

Cons

• A second kit is always great to have because these Sennheisers aren't the most rugged choice, and readily having a backup on location is better than none at all.
• straping on two g3's and a tentacle seems like a mess.
• If you are going to put in all this time and effort why begin with a G3? Prosumer at best.
• I just tried to route a Sony UWP and a Sennheiser G3 into a 3.5 splitter and this almost worked but it summed the two channels and made them identical
• The only other thing going that day was a IFB send coming out of a Sennheiser g3.
