Pros

  • RX 6600 is a fantastic GPU ($135-$150 used on hardwareswap atm) for either CPU.
  • If you *really* want an upgrade now, go for a less power-hungry card if you can (like an RX 6600 or something similar) and you should be ok.
  • If you get real lucky you can get a secondhand RX 6600 *and* a Ryzen 5 3600 upgrade for your $150 budget, maybe a little more. I picked up two RX 6600s for $110 each like two years ago
  • Used RX 6600 would be a massive upgrade over a 1650.
  • I can do with a 3060 RX 6600 if you are on a budget.

Cons

  • My current specs: GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600 (8GB)
  • Rx 6600 or 3060 12gb
  • It's running an i7-5930K with a ThermalRight tower cooler on a ASUS Z-99 Deluxe board with 32 GB of DDR4-3200, a Sapphire Pulse RX 6600 8GB for transcode
  • Upgrading from an RX 6600, so yeah.
  • I know that rx 6600 isn’t exactly suitable for 1440p but I heard that it’s doing great overall.

I’m happy to be proven wrong, but a build centred around Ryzen 3600 and rx 6600 (or 7600 or its intel arc equivalent) with 32 gb ddr4 is fully playable and pretty close to your budget.

it's pretty evenly matched with my RX6600 and 32GB ram all on stock settings.
