Sam's Club
Reddit take
Not enough linked mention summaries yet; the source excerpts below are the evidence.
Pros
- Sometimes Sam's is the cheapest but occasionally Kroger or Walmart had sales that beat Sam's.
- I now buy them in 25# bags from Sam’s and use lots of the recipe ideas from Reddit, as well.
- And some stores, like Sam's Club and Mr. Hippo Supermarket, have a few interesting choices.
- I had switched from the (terrible) Kirkland blue to the (superior) Sam’s Club.
- Sam's club, because I don't have a Costco near me to pick up from the store for meat and perishable purchases that can't be shipped.
Cons
- I believe they are a regional wholesale club similar to Costco or Sam's club.
- For Sam’s Club, I’ve read on Reddit many people had to take it to a store to get a refund. You can buy one of those vacuum bags to shrink it enough to fit in a large vehicle but still a pain.
- Or grapes are $3/lb at Sam's Club but $1.29/lb at Aldi.
- I’m also willing to get a Sam’s Club or Costco membership if the savings would be worth it.
- I usually shop at Costco, Sam’s Club, and Azure Standard.

In my experience, Costco (and I assume Sam's Club) was cheaper with the trade off that Costco didn't do free battery installs or even offer that service.
Prime grade whole packer brisket from Costco/Sam’s Club/HEB will probably be most economical.
The scan and go is awesome and the people that check your receipt at the door did not lose their jobs over it.
