Pros

  • I’ve never personally found anything I didn’t think Punt e Mes worked in. Despite the marketing, I don’t think it’s that far removed from many other sweet vermouths.
  • Punt e Mes and Dolin Blanc are good, good QPR options.
  • Atlas in Singapore does a split vermouth in their Negronis: 1 part punt e Mes, 1 part Manchino Rosso Vermouth. It’s delicious.
  • Punt e Mes is my go to, then Antica.
  • Yes I keep a 50/50 blend of Punt e Mes and Dolin Red sweet vermouth. Works really well in most cocktails calling for it. I like it since it’s a bit more complex and has a bit more weight than straight Dolin.

Cons

  • Haven’t tried punt e mes yes but isnt it like an extra bitter vermouth, halfway to an amaro, rather than a middle of the road workhorse?
  • may sub Punt e Mes for my regular vermouth.
  • Punt E Mes • costs a bit more than dolin. It tasts a bit in between dolin and cochhi (wine forward), but then has a solid bitter edge to it like it has a digestive Amaro added to it. The bit of bitterness can really make a drink pop, b...
  • I hesitate to include Punt E Mes with the other two because… it’s not strictly a vermouth considering it’s split with Amaro and so much more bitter.

Punt E Mes is beautifully in focus, shows itself from its best side, the mixture of more spiciness from the rye, but also sweetness from the rum and herbal liqueur are perfectly balanced and incredibly complex, then there's this hint of dry cocoa beans in the finish, omg.

Punt e mes - what I am currently using, and my new favorite. I really like the added bitterness, but to me it isn't *unsweet* at all and is still quite rich.

Not listed; I use Punt E Mes for Manhattans and variations.
