Pros

  • Seems I've fixed it...the actual fix was switching the PBO from MSI's 'Enhanced' profile to 'Advanced' with a manual offset. My GPU usage instantly went from 50% to 80%, and I'm now getting 111 FPS native in Battlefield.
  • If you haven't and are comfortable with it try enabling pbo for that extra bit of more perf
  • PBO isn’t dangerous. Nothing to worry about. It’s a very safe setting and helps get a bit more performance out of your ryzen CPU.
  • It should help, mine used to run pretty hot in DCS and a PBO -15 dropped it considerably.
  • Found my issue. It was having PBO enabled on my motherboard. Setting it back to auto fixed my freezing.

Cons

  • Have you tried turning off PBO? It often has almost no appreciable benefit for performance on X3D CPUs while significantly increasing its power and heat.

You can enable PBO for more performance and call it a day.
